Each year the ASN takes to the road and offers a feature-filled, inspirational day of sharing knowledge and celebrating stewardship successes. This year, our annual ASN workshop and AGM took place in Fort MacLeod on June 25th, 2009 with over 80 participants from all around the province.
Naturalist and writer Ben Gadd started off the morning with an inspiring talk on "Why We Head for the Woods, and Why I Love My Job". His speech helped tune all attendees into the workshop theme, which focused on the myriad of actions we as stewards can undertake to preserve and enhance fish and wildlife habitat on-the-ground at "home". Participants experienced a first-class lineup of informative and entertaining presenters, as well as the opportunity to network with a diverse assembly of skilled and respected panellists and other engaged stewards from community groups and agencies from throughout Alberta. Speaker, writer, natural history buff and musician Sid Marty joined us to round out this exciting day.
